The American Music Awards announced that K-pop superstars BTS will hit the stage with rapper Megan Thee Stallion for the world TV premiere of their “Butter” remix. Also confirmed as performers were Bad Bunny and Olivia Rodrigo. Rodrigo, who leads this year’s pack with seven nominations, will make her AMAs debut during the broadcast.
The Weeknd and Bad Bunny also scored big this year with six and five nominations, respectively. Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift are both nominated for Favorite Pop Album for the chart-topping projects “Positions” and “evermore,” respectively. BTS are recognized in the categories of Favorite Pop Duo or Group and Favorite Pop Song (“Butter”). Other nominees include Kacey Musgraves, Pop Smoke, Jhené Aiko, J Balvin, Foo Fighters, Machine Gun Kelly, Kanye West and many more
The 2021 AMAs, hosted by Cardi B, will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. The event will stream the next day on Hulu. Voting is open on the American Music Awards website.
